Sagt

Privacy Policy

Sagt does not collect any data about you. Audio is transcribed on your own Mac, iPhone or iPad and never leaves it.

No data collection

Sagt has no analytics, tracking, user accounts or advertising, and contains no third-party SDKs for such purposes. The developer receives no data from the app.

Transcription happens on your device

Sagt turns audio into text with speech recognition models (Whisper and NB-Whisper) running on your device through WhisperKit and Core ML. Speakers are found the same way, with a model that runs locally. Audio is not sent to any server.

Titles, summaries and questions

These features use Apple’s built-in language model (Apple Intelligence, macOS 26 and iOS 26 or later), which runs on your device. Your text is not sent to the developer or any other service.

Network connections

Sagt only connects to the internet to download models from Hugging Face:

No recordings, transcripts or other app data are sent along. As with any download, Hugging Face may see standard technical information, such as your IP address. Hugging Face has its own privacy policy. After the download, Sagt works offline.

Microphone and system audio

Sagt only uses the microphone when you start a recording yourself. On Mac, you can also record the audio your computer plays. Recordings are stored on the device with your other recordings.

Storage and file access

Purchases

Sagt Pro is bought in the app through the App Store. Apple handles the payment under Apple’s privacy policy. Sagt only learns whether the purchase went through, not who you are or how you paid.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
